Our Story
Everybody Growing
This is our purpose and passion.
We exist to grow people in relationship with Jesus Christ, so that when they stand before Him, He will say to them, “well done, good and faithful servant”.
We believe ‘everybody growing’ rests on 5 pillars which are detailed below.
Great Church Services
From the time of arrival on our campus to departure, we aim to provide an outstanding experience. From our guest services, music and worship service, kid’s programs, Youth and Young adult groups, Wednesday Night I-Grow adult bible study, facilities and sermons; we aim to present all with relevance and excellence.
Meaningful Relationships
No one wants to do life alone! We invite you to experience and grow with real people that are multicultural and multigenerational through our Fusion groups and other small group environments.
A Clear Path to Grow
Life has many seasons, what’s next? How do I get ready to meet the challenges that lie ahead on this road I’m traveling? Learn how to navigate the seasons and roads of life through mentorship and discipleship programs.
Leadership Development
Many will encourage you to be more competent, who will challenge you to grow your character? It’s a big assignment but it’s what we do.
The Opportunity to Make a Difference
Instinctively we all want our lives to matter as our hearts beat for purpose. Discover and unwrap your gifts, the world is waiting.
Our History
Where Stittsville United Pentecostal Church has come from.
The first church building of Stittsville United Pentecostal Church was located on Pretty Street and was dedicated in December 1974 led by Rev Dixon and his wife Frances Dixon.
Rev Paul Graham and his wife came to pastor SUPC in the spring of 1975 until September 1976 when Rev David Phillips and his wife were called to Pastor the church until the summer of 1980.
In March 1981 Rev & Mrs Alonzo Dummitt, with their son Jason, moved to Stittsville where they took on the challenge of pastoring SUPC. After leading for 30 years with solid direction and seeing tremendous growth the Dummitts retired. Pastor & Sis Dummitt still attend SUPC and are an integral part of the church’s ongoing legacy.
Pastor Dummitt served, and still does, in a variety of leadership roles on a District and National level within the United Pentecostal Church International. Most notably he was the Superintendent of the Ontario District for 10 years and has since retired from this role.
In August 2008 Rev Dwayne McCarty, along with his wife Leanna and their two daughters, Jessica and Erica, moved to Stittsville as Associate Pastors. On January 1st, 2011 Pastor McCarty was elected as Lead Pastor where he continues to lead with wisdom, relevance and excellence.
We truly are blessed to have such rich history and heritage of hard working, committed ministers at Stittsville United Pentecostal Church.
